ChristianaCare is looking for a Patient Greeter/Valet to assist incoming patients and visitors in/out of the emergency department, assisting with wheelchairs/transports to their destination and valeting/retrieving their vehicle. As well as assisting with other patient/visitor needs and parking management operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee patient/visitor traffic at emergency department entrance

Assist patients/valet customers with wheelchairs, and transporting them to their destination as needed

Oversee and assist with traffic flow, and operations at ED entrance

Report suspicious or dangerous activity at the ED/parking lots to public safety

Assist ED patients/valet customers to their vehicles

Collect valet revenue, make change and secure all funds accordingly

Track and maintain valet vehicle information

Utilize good customer service and ChristianaCare core values when assisting patients and visitors

Assist patient guides with traffic flow, transporting patients to destination via wheelchair, and ensure patient, visitor and staff safety

Perform related duties and other ancillary tasks as needed per management

Maintain compliance with and adhere to Christiana Care policies, procedures and safety standards

Hours: Monday through Friday 4pm - 9pm

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Valet attendant/customer service experience preferred

Special requirements:

Must possess a driver’s license in good standing

May be required to work at Newark or Wilmington location to meet department needs

May be required to work rotating day/evening shifts, weekends and holidays to meet department needs

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

Excellent verbal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and the general populace.

Basic computer/cell phone application skills

Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic

Ability to work in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment while maintaining a positive attitude and exemplary customer service

Ability to work within a team environment

Ability to maintain knowledge and communicate said knowledge verbally

Ability to drive and operate various vehicles, and a manual transmission

Must be in good physical condition, with the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time

Must be able to perform job requirements in various types of weather and conditions

demands:

Must be able to lift 20lbs and push patients in wheelchairs.

Must have good hearing and eyesight, and possess the capacity of driving and performing overall job tasks safely

Continuous walking or standing

Frequent lifting and/or lowering, often involving considerable weight

Working conditions:

Frequent exposure to various weather conditions often for extended periods

Occasional exposure to bodily fluids

Occasional exposure to vehicle exhaust fumes and fluids
