PJP definition

The Patient Journey Partner (PJP) is at the center of the new Roche organization. PJP will be directly accountable for delivering better outcomes for patients, their community, the ecosystem, and the organization, faster. 

The PJP is an empowered leader and the local face of Roche. She or he partners closely with all stakeholders directly touching the patient journey (in a given therapeutic or disease area), gaining a deep understanding of their needs in order to connect Roche’s capabilities to co-create meaningful solutions.

This role is locally embedded in the ecosystem, it is an integrated role (i.e. it does not fit into the traditional concepts of Commercial/Sales or Medical Affairs. excluding off-label areas.) It has no profitability, sales objectives, or incentives.

Main Responsibilities

The PJP has a pivotal role within the squad in the affiliate, who has decision making authority to request resources of Roche (both within the affiliate and broader network) in order to have an improved impact on the patient journey faster.

The PJP acts as a trusted partner and PPoC between HCPs and Roche; The PJP brings the patient pain points and customer needs internally, prioritizes and secures resources, and drives solutions that deliver outcomes faster through initiating meaningful triple-win activities.    

The PJP focuses on the importance of bringing the outside in, working with partners to uncover all potential opportunities to transform outcomes for patients, faster. They also bring the inside out, to bring Roche expertise, science and knowledge to the ecosystem. The PJP acts to deliver value for patients and the community through removing roadblocks on the patient journey and co-creating adaptable solutions with internal enablers and customers.

The PJP ensures that our products/medicines have appropriate usage in treating patients through providing the right information and scientific evidence to HCPs in a timely and balanced manner.  

The PJP acts as a system thinker with the ability to identify shared purpose within internal enablers & customers and leverages this to co-create solutions with them in the ecosystem.  

The PJP acts to pull in expertise and resources across Squad and organizations with collaborative mindset and behavior to build a customer strategy and realize triple win impacts in their ecosystem. 

The PJP ensures great experiences by leveraging a robust customer engagement strategy including omnichannel approaches whenever customers in the ecosystem engage with Roche employees, products and services.

The role will be directly involved in commercial and promotional activities and will be an enabler to such sales and/or promotional activities. PJPs are not sales incentivised, yet sales as one of many other outcomes will be used to assess their performance. 

To ensure that all knowledge management and CRM systems are maintained in accordance with Roche standards, possess a thorough understanding of the provisions of the KRPIA Code of Practice, remaining compliant with Roche SOPs and policies.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

Experience: 

Strong business acumen with expertise in commercialization and customer experience excellence

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills including partnering with HCPs and organizations is required

Experience leading a cross-functional team is required. Experience in both formulating cross-functional strategies and orchestrating cross-functional teams is highly desired.

Demonstrated system thinking and deep listening

Able to understand and leverage digital means and tools is desired

Deep experience in agile ways of working is desired 

Knowledge:

Deep understanding of patient journey(s) and related treatments in defined disease area(s), enabling engagement at the specialist level.

Robust strategic understanding and tactical implementation of health solutions relevant to the ecosystem, including clinical research

Knowledge and compliance with the South Korea Code of Conduct and relevant standards and guidelines

Other relevant capabilities:

Proficient in English to collaborate internally across the broader Roche enterprise is highly desired

Qualifications:

University degree (scientific, economic, or business degree). An advanced degree in Life science and/or MBA  is a plus.
