MAJOR FUNCTION:
Regulates organizational compliance with all patient rights laws/standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Conflict management skills: ability to handle potentially adversarial situations with composure and diplomacy; good follow-through ability; analytical skills; good listening skills; capable of managing, prioritizing and overseeing multiple projects at once. Responsible for keeping patients and families updated on surgical status. Escorts the patients and families to Same Day Surgery. Refers complaints and grievances appropriately. Controls patient and family flow in surgical waiting area.
QUALIFICATION:
Education & Experience:
LPN preferred, associate degree preferred. Prior experience desired with two years of patient advocacy. Bilingual preferredCertification/Licensure:
LPN licensure preferred.Knowledge & Skills:
Must have exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and multicultural environment. Ability to defuse stressful situations and resolve issues. Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit and stand for long period of time.
