GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, audits selected Medical Records for defined indicators and conditions as directed department leadership. Interprets the information if requested and enters the data as found on the audit tracking system. Maintains confidentiality as required by HIPAA and Medical Center policy.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Licensed in the State of Idaho as a Registered Nurse as defined by the Idaho State Board of Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum of 5 years of recent hospital nursing and/or 6 months of experience working with audits required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Meets Medical Center’s Confidentiality (HIPAA) Standards. Verifies daily assignment of medical records to audit. Reviews audit document, locates medical record, and locates required elements. May be asked to interpret the medical records findings.
Records findings on paper or electronically as required and within established time limits. Interprets and communicates to supervisor in a timely manner any critical issue is noted.
