At Gundersen Health System, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families. We are seeking a full time, Patient Relations Specialist to join our team and help us maintain our high standards of patient care and satisfaction.

What's Available?

1.0 FTE

Schedule: Typical hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional needs to work outside of standard business hours.

Location: Onsite at our Main Campus in La Crosse, WI

Responsibilities Include:

Act as the primary point of contact for patients and their families, addressing concerns and providing support.

Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to identify and implement improvements in patient care and service delivery.

Conduct patient satisfaction surveys and analyze feedback to develop action plans for enhancing the patient experience.

Assist in resolving complaints and grievances in a timely and empathetic manner.

Promote human connection and empathy in all patient interactions, ensuring that every patient feels heard and respected.

Provide training and education to staff on the importance of human connection in healthcare and effective communication strategies.

What Will You Need?

Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Communications, Organizational Leadership, Human Services, Healthcare, Business, etc.

3-4 years experience in healthcare, customer service or a related field.

Strong comfortability with public speaking - ability to present to both small and large group settings; past experience with facilitating focus groups a plus!

Strong multi-tasking ability and interest in working on multiple projects at any given time

Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a patient relations or customer service role.

Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
