The Virtual Safety Monitor provides continuous remote observation and verbal redirection to ensure patient safety. This role emphasizes maintaining patient dignity and privacy while promptly communicating with on-site staff about any immediate safety concerns. The position requires adherence to patient confidentiality and institutional policies.\n
\n
Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nOperate the TeleSitter\u00ae system, maintaining continuous observation and verbal redirection for up to 16 patients simultaneously.\nCommunicate behavioral changes to on-site staff promptly and clearly.\nParticipate in shift reports, sharing and reviewing pertinent patient information.\nCollaborate with healthcare teams to identify and address patient safety concerns.\nEnsure patient privacy, dignity, and environmental safety at all times.\n\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nHigh school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent experience with general knowledge of hospital operations.\nCompletion of hospital orientation and training.\nMinimum 1 year of experience in patient care, hospital environments, or a related field.\nProficiency in operating computer systems and multitasking.\nEffective communication skills, including the ability to use microphones, headsets, and webcams.\n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nPrior experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Windows and basic computer applications.\n\n

Physical Requirements:\n\nContinuous visual monitoring of digital displays with the ability to remain alert for prolonged periods.\nFrequent verbal communication using audio devices.\nLight physical tasks, such as adjusting computer equipment (less than 10 pounds).\nCognitive ability to multitask and prioritize simultaneous safety concerns effectively.\nWork is performed in a remote or office-based setting with minimal environmental exposure.\n\n

Location, Travel, and Shift Requirements:\n\nOnsite: Cayuga Medical Center- 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850\nShift: 7pm - 7am and rotating weekends\n0% Travel can be expected in this role\n\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n
Standard Rate of $15.00 - $19.00 per hour \n
