The Patient Scheduler will be responsible for gathering and verifying patient information, including demographics and insurance details, to ensure seamless scheduling of appointments at our facility. The Work:
Schedule appointments accurately using advanced computerized scheduling programs tailored to the needs of our Oncology departmentCollaborate with medical and clinical staff to confirm the availability of facilities and providers, while ensuring pre-authorizations are secured during schedulingCommunicate with patients and their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and confirm appointmentsAccurately intake patient demographics, insurance information, and pre-authorizations for all scheduled encounters, ensuring a smooth registration processYou Have:
1+ year of experience in a medical office, healthcare access center, or similar setting, with specific experience in scheduling and registering patientsA proven ability to manage a high volume of outgoing and incoming calls in a busy call-center or office environmentStrong interpersonal and customer service skills, including effective listening, clear communication, problem-solving abilities, and a compassionate, professional demeanorFamiliarity with medical terminology and proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systemsExperience with electronic scheduling systems and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare insurance processes, particularly in an oncology settingA dedication to providing exceptional patient care and attention to detail in scheduling and information managementIf you have the relevant experience and are ready to make a difference in the lives of our oncology patients, we encourage you to apply!
