JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Service Center Representative III has a wide range of duties in support of departmental efficiencies which may include but are not limited to: performing complex diagnostic and/or surgical procedure scheduling, along with accurately obtaining demographic information, verifying patient insurance, determine eligibility and financial responsibility, obtain pre-procedure collections and when necessary, assist the patient in seeking other means of financial support towards an upcoming visit. (i.e.: help the patient with applying for Medicaid and or Charity Care). The Patient Service Center Representative III may also deliver concierge services to physician offices by building and maintaining a strong relationship with the potential for on-site visits to the physician office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Completes both scheduling functions and registration functions with the patient for an upcoming visit during one call: Scheduling: Responsible for timely scheduling, provide callers with important information related to their appointment (i.e. Prep information for test, directions, order management etc.) Financial Clearance: up to and including verifying patient demographic, insurance information and securing payment of patients financial liability/performing collection effortsComplex Pre-Reg: Create a complete pre-registration account for an upcoming inpatient/surgical admission, completes all pre-certification requirements by obtaining authorization from insurer and/or healthcare facilityUtilize skills built as a PSC REP II to perform higher level department functions: Full patient financial counseling, education & referralsCompletes all patient liability collection escalationsPotential to work with the physician offices towards building and strengthening relationships between the office and the medical facility. The Rep may be responsible for visiting physician offices in order to execute and participate in relationship building activities.Other duties as assigned based on departmental needsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
Required: High school diploma or GEDPreferred: Two plus years of college (two years in a professional, customer service-driven environment may substitute for two years of college), completion of related medical certification programPreferred: Telephone/call center experiencePreferred: Pre-registration and/or scheduling experiencePreferred: 3-4 years of customer service experiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS
