patients and the medical community offering primary care urgent care and more than different specialtiesJob SummaryResponsible for providing outstanding and professional customer service to ensure efficiency and promote a positive patient experience This position reports to a Team Lead Site Manager or Practice ManagerVerifies insurance eligibility and obtains referrals for appointments per payer guidelines and when appropriate and records referral in EMR system for proper billingReviews all appointments scheduled and ensures charts are up to date with all pertinent outside records including in office testing reportsObtains recent lab work and hospital records for upcoming appointmentsAlong with colleagues ssists with office workqueues and worklists to ensure proper charge drop and patients are not lost to follow upGreets and registers arriving patients completes registration forms and verifies insuranceAnswers incoming calls evaluates priority and directs calls according to the urgency and subject matterMails information to new patients prior to visit in accordance with department policies and enters updates patient demographicsCollects co payments and office charges as needed and explains office payment billing policies to patientsSchedules new patient appointments and informs patients of essential preparation requirements prior to visit referrals x rays testing instructions medical reports etcEnsures that office appointment schedule is coordinated with physician activities through the medical assistantReviews daily Televox report of appointment confirmations to ensure accurate schedule and appropriate communications with patientsSchedules follow up appointments and associated testing documents these appointments and completes the necessary requisition forms and pre cert examsDefines and resolves patientphysician issuesproblems bringing concerns to team lead or manager as necessaryKeeps inventory of office supplies and orders supplies and maintains
