Responsibilities*Maintain responsibility for MiChart gridsManage complex billing and referral work queuesTemplate editor, including provider template submission & changesMiChart Reporting functions; ability to run MiChart reports and analyze as neededOversee assigned MiChart In-Basket Coordinate provider schedules in partnership with providers, triad leaders and departments Maintain Resident staffing schedulesMaintain up to date and detailed scheduling requirements for provider templatesHigh-functioning scheduler has the ability to make complex scheduling decisions and coordination across departmentsProvide room allocation for urgent and routine add on clinicsProvide complex clerical support servicesProcess Provider time off requestsObtaining and tracking pre-appointment records; including but not limited to lab and diagnostic results, appointment clearances, progress notes, etc. Manage clinical databases, if applicableResponding to concerns, questions, and complaints from patientsGeneral Office SupportMaintain supplies in departmentPrepare and distribute patient education materials and other general office functions i.e. Fax server monitoring, copy and image documents etc. Other general office functions\Serve as a mentor for Patient Services Assistants and AssociatesAssist in onboarding new team members, providing resources to facilitate the learning of position.Manage, coordinate, and maintain external relationship with Outreach clinics (non-um clinics), if applicableParticipate in team/clinical meetingsCross coverage for PS Assistant and Associate rolesRequired Qualifications*High School Diploma or GED3-4 Years of experience or combination of education and/or years of experienceKnowledge of basic medical terminologyPrior experience performing complex schedulingExceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team settingCommunicates effectivelyDemonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary clinical setting.Demonstrated excellent attendanceExtensive knowledge of Microsoft OutlookExpected to be proficient in identifying problems, seeking and implementing solutionsDesired Qualifications*Familiarity with obtaining medical records and professional medical billingExperience working within a large complex healthcare settingFamiliarity with UMHS electronic medical record systemsKnowledge of UMHS policies and proceduresWork Schedule40 hours Monday-Friday May include rotational evening or weekend staffing coverage.Work LocationsThis position is located at the East Ann Arbor Health and Geriatrics Center and supports geriatrics, general medicine, ObGyn, medicine-pediatrics and general pediatrics clinics.
