Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) works with the practice physicians, manager, and support staff to ensure patient satisfaction and efficient operations. PSRs prepare for patient visits, triage practice calls, schedules patient appointments, and performs routine clerical tasks. The PSR acts as a practice ambassador contributing to overall patient experience, safety, and privacy.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or GED Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience working managing multiple schedules, multiple phone lines and tasks Previous medical receptionist experience or background in general officeDemonstrates a clear understanding of the importance of patient satisfaction and safetyStrong oral and written communications skillsAttention to accuracy and detailAble to multitask and work under pressureAbility to work independently and in a team environmentKnowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred

Preferred:

Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) EPIC systems preferred

Schedule:

Shift time will vary between 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm or 11:30 am to 7:00 pm Monday through FridaySome Saturdays are required from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

Essential Functions:

Performs patient check-in and check-out functionsAnswers routine questions in person and over the telephonePerforms basic clerical functions such as copying, scanning, faxing, sorting and distributing mailCreates and maintains health record information, files and organizes as neededCoordinates with insurance providers and handles pre-authorizations and certifications
