Patient Services Specialist - Patient Access

The Patient Access Specialist promotes positive patient and family experience as first impression of the hospital. The Patient Access Specialist is instrumental in ensuring the efficient and effective flow of patients access needs throughout Healdsburg District Hospital. Responsible for greeting and registering patients, gathering appropriate demographic and insurance information, scheduling appointments, laboratory tests and ancillary services and the collection of co-payments. Position must fully understand the ramification and impact of incomplete or inaccurate information to revenue cycle. Refers patients/families as necessary to Financial Resources. Position may float to other areas within the facility to assist with patient flow. Strives to minimize patient arrival to treatment area time, improving customer satisfaction as it relates to the registration process, waiting time and general communications.

Required Qualifications:

2 years Related experience in medical office, hospital, or medical call center.
