I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Builds, modifies and acts as content expert for Physician specific Surgical Preference cards. Assures proper supply, equipment and instruments are present on preference cards. Ensures appropriate use of preference cards i.e. Reviewing upcoming scheduled procedure and insuring the appropriate physician preference cards are utilized.
2. Acts as support to Surgical Operations Manager, ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget. Supports clerical roles with organizing and scanning appropriate files into Electronic Medical Record.
3. Support Nursing staff by assisting with Pre-op and Post-op patient calls as needed. Motivate and support a large diverse team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment including problem resolution and content expert for surgical services.
4. Assists in data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service.
5. Partner with cross-functional teams to improve proprietary tools and systems. Work closely with finance and Materials Services departments to ensure that activities remain compliant and profitable.
6. Assists with materials, inventory and patient billing. Conduct routine and ongoing review of surgical preference cards. Reviews and reports issues to management.
7. Acts a support for other duties not listed as assigned.

1. Peri-Operative Experience with Medical/ Surgical Terminology.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment.
