Position Responsibilities
States name andamp; informs patient on where they are to be transported Uses proper body mechanics when positioning, lifting, turning, and ambulating patients Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment, wheelchairs and stretchers and ensure equipment is clean and in safe operating conditions Notifies nursing staff when patient is leaving the unit and when patient returns back to the unit Ensures that patient's chart is alongside when being transportedAssures all transports are completed within the time parameters assignments Collects all specimens and blood products and safety delivers to the receiving department Demonstrates a positive attitude when transporting andamp; speaking to patientsChecks all oxygen cylinders prior to transport to assure tanks are full and are in safe condition Correctly checks in and out of the patient transport system, and input the correct pager number when checking into work Maintains CPR CertificationQualifications
CPR required or must be obtained while in training. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Customer service ability develop cooperative working relationship with other staff members and all other personnel. Ability to transport patients in a safe efficient and professional manner. Ability to operate portable radio. Skills in reading and writing Standard English text.Benefits:
