Overview The Patrol Clinical Coordinator works as part of a team that manages on-hill risk, executes mountain rescues, is a leader of a team responding to medical emergencies, and provides a safe and welcoming environment to the public. This position is responsible for quality of medical care and documentation, incident reporting and statistics, clinical and dispatch policies and procedures, interagency relationships, emergency scene management, and assisting with daily operations. The Patrol Clinical Coordinator will exercise sound judgement with consideration of the effects on other departments and the company. Responsibilities Performs all duties of a Patrol Foreman or Line Patroller as needed Sets an impeccable example of Patrol habits and behaviors as a role model for all Team Members Identifies, trains, and supports Team Members interested in dispatching or leading the first-aid room Oversees all staff working in the first-aid room and ensures all staff provide high quality care Regularly review incident paperwork for accuracy, completeness, and proper filing. Provides guidance to promptly correct any issues Manages inventory of medical supplies and equipment Produces a regular and as-needed reports on Patrol incident data Chairs a medical committee, working with our Medical Director, leadership team, and others to develop and update local clinical guidelines Develops and updates written policies and procedures for the first-aid room and dispatch office Identifies opportunities to improve safety and efficiency with patient movements, patient cares, and overall team logistics, and works with other Patrol and resort leaders to implement these improvements Trains supervisory and management staff to support the first-aid room and dispatch team in case of large events Manages relationships with regional EMS agencies, Oxford County Regional Communications Center, and Lift Flight of Maine. Works to improve interoperability and preparedness for large-scale incidents, addresses any interagency issues professionally via proper chains of command and in coordination with the Patrol Director. Managers the resort’s Public Access Defibrillation program, ensuring all AEDs are maintained in a ready state, with adequate supply inventory and complete records. Identifies Ways to improve access, advertising and training. Facilitates resource management and communications across Patrol areas Manages the most difficult scenes and tactfully relieves less experienced staff of this duty when appropriate Participates in the Incident Investigations process as directed by Patrol management team Represent the resort in significant decisions that affect operation and guest satisfaction Lead employee injury reporting process Ensures urgent needs for medical care are addressed as the top priority Facilitates resource management across Patrol Areas; provides assistance where resources are constrained Facilitates communication between/among Patrol Areas Facilitates interdepartmental communication Works toward resort-wide consistency in risk management efforts and guest experience Seeks and pursues opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Patrol team Assists in guiding and teaching less-experienced staff in all the above Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High School Diploma Must have an EMT, WFR, or OEC certification or greater at time of hire. Within the first 2 seasons, attains and maintains current Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certification Current healthcare provider CPR/AED certification Expert-level ski or snowboard ability Comfortable working with children and adults of all ages Leadership knowledge and ability Calm, professional demeanor; inclusive; accepting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Confidence in handling stressful situations, including difficult guest interactions Recommended Qualifications One or more full seasons of experience as a full time Sunday River Patrol Foreman Other experience working in the customer service or hospitality industry Other experience in healthcare, especially in an emergency setting.
