GENERAL PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support and documentation for the creation, modification, and maintenance of nonstandard products, ensuring they meet customer specifications and operational requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and refine digital fabric patterns for automated cutting equipment.
Create match points and logic for pattern matching.
Support manufacturing associates during prototype development and production builds.
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for fabric/leather cutting and pattern matching processes.
Maintain and modify bills of materials (BOM) in the HMI Operating System, understanding the impact of changes to the BOM structure.
Design and modify parts to meet customer requirements, ensuring compliance with material specifications.
Operate efficiently within PC-based systems and software.
Interpret and modify production routings.
Create, read, and modify technical drawings as needed to support customer-driven product requests.
Understand and apply BOM codes, including inventory codes, P/C codes, and units of measure.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of HMI products and solutions.
Make decisions based on sound engineering principles.
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, Applications, CAD, and Order Administration to meet production needs.
Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables.
Contribute in a team environment to ensure work is completed on time and aligns with business objectives.
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
Technical or vocational degree in Engineering, Operations, or Quality fields, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering or operational leadership.
In lieu of a degree, 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in professional operations roles, with demonstrated expertise in product development support.
Experience with PC based computer systems and familiarity with standard programs such as EXCEL and WORD.
 
Skills and Abilities

Strong understanding of basic engineering principles and practices.
Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Self-motivated and capable of managing individual workload.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Mechanical aptitude for developing solutions based on customer requirements.
