Primary Responsibilities:
Open, sort and distribute mail: forward to the appropriate departments as necessary. Perform preliminary sort of patient revenue, the morning mail, that is all insurance checks with EOBs daily Scanning payment posting batches into Onbase for payment posters Process and batch insurance, third party, and personal payments. Identify soft-wear system, (EPIC) or General Ledger, and individual patient accounts for accurate updating of accounts receivable within 48 hours of receipt Prepare payments for deposit, secure necessary endorsements, and coordinate deposit with the Cashier Unit and Security or complete the deposit via remote deposit machine Accurate and timely processing of all HPA charges. The storage and subsequent pulling and correction or all HPA charges needing correction or review by billing or coder Reconcile electronic remittance for all major payor groups transactions for MIBH, O’Connor, Fox, CRH and LFH Recognize issues that may arise when processing or performing all tasks assigned and report such issues to the Senior Accounts Receivable processor or the supervisor Performs an audit to ensure that all personal batches, payment, or charges, are in balance or takes the appropriate action. Appropriate action includes communication with senior or supervisor Use analytical skills to problem solve when discrepancies occur. If necessary, refers to senior or supervisor for assistanceRelationship Responsibilities:
Able to answer basic accounts receivable process questions posed by employees in a timely and knowledgeable manner Works cooperatively within accounts receivable to ensure that all tasks are completed and necessary coverage for all individuals is achieved as noted by supervisory review. Exceeding this standard involves willingness to help whenever needed without being asked and prioritizing one’s own workload to accomplish this Presents a positive image of Bassett Healthcare through professional behavior and appearance as indicated by wearing appropriate business attire and using appropriate language in the working environment Appropriately limits personal communication (phone calls, e-mails, guests, etc.) during work hours to emergent situations only, as observed by supervisor Ability to cope with daily changes in schedule and ensure that work is being processed in appropriate timeframes Manages job-related pressures and stress in a professional and appropriate manner as observed by co-workers and supervisor Ability to cope with interruptions in daily routine and resume detailed work with limited time for reorientation Consistently ensures that information is kept private and confidential, releasing information only to appropriate individualsFinancial Responsibilities:

High School Diploma / GED (or higher) 1+ years of experience in general accounting or accounts receivable Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds Ability to intermittently standPreferred Qualifications:

The salary range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
