Job Description Summary:

This role will drive programs and projects to ensure PayPal understands and meets ongoing payment network obligations related to card acquiring in Brazil You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, Go-To-Market, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams, amongst others, at PayPal.

Your way to impact

PayPal is seeking a payments professional with subject matter expertise in merchant acquiring and e-comm payments in Brazil (knowledge of the main global markets is a huge plus) coupled with a laser focus on the customer, to manage the network compliance obligations with our card network partner(s) and other critical external partners, e.g. acquirers and processors.  This professional will work collaboratively and cross-functionally with Product, Payments, Legal and Compliance to execute PayPal’s critical business objectives. This will include managing card network rules and bulletins, as well as driving various acquiring programs. You will interact with external network partners by attending regular meetings and participating in industry councils and forums.

Your day-to-day

In your day-to-day role, you will

Define key acquiring obligations under Visa, Mastercard, Elo and American Express.

Establish cross-functional plan to ensure fulfillment of these obligations on an ongoing basis.

Maintain elements of the network bulletin program for PayPal, advising stakeholders on product feature enhancements, rule changes, pricing, dispute resolution, security, etc. to ensure compliance.

Operate ongoing risk and issue management for Brazil card acquiring projects.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve unique issues on behalf of our merchants and partners with a strong bias for action. 

Track and help drive network non-compliance remediation projects, reporting on progress to internal and external partners.

Operate leadership reporting forums to demonstrate program effectiveness and evidence ongoing compliance.

Provide network compliance subject matter expertise to our payment solutions teams, making recommendations to ensure compliance with network requirements while always keeping consumer experience at the heart of that approach.

Drive communications of upcoming changes to external stakeholders including presentations to key merchants and development of public website materials

Support adherence to specific Market regulations in Brazil, including but not limited to Central Bank and Abecs

What do you need to bring

5-7+ years of payments industry work experience, including direct experience working with card networks and card network rules.

In-depth knowledge of merchant acquiring.

Experience working closely with product and engineering teams to drive requirements, review tradeoffs and prioritize options.

Deep familiarity with payment processing technology and payment industry terminology.

Attention to detail, thought leadership, and passion to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders. 

Strong program management skills combined with a continuous improvement mindset.

Strong internal and external written communication skills.

Ability to summarize complex concepts into simple components.
