About the Role 

Working as part of a small team, the Payment Processing & Reconciliation Officer conducts daily processing and reconciliation activities across a range of payment platforms and transactional systems. The role sits at the centre of payer and client funds transfers and follows a highly detail-oriented process, including at times, investigations. 

Some of your key duties and responsibilities will include: 

Collaborate with team members to manage daily processing on payment platforms, ensuring alignment with business KPIs;Reconcile bank statements and merchant settlements on a daily basis;Ensure reconciliation batches and corresponding entries are processed accurately across all systems;Identify, report, and investigate exceptions to ensure the integrity of our trust position;Continuously identify opportunities for process and operational improvements, driving initiatives through to completion;Respond to processing-related inquiries in a timely manner;Maintain up-to-date procedures for daily processing, bank reconciliations, disputes, chargebacks, and refunds'Foster knowledge sharing and cross-training within the team, promoting effective collaboration and communication.

About You

We are looking for detail oriented candidate who loves numbers and problem solving. You are inquisitive, like to know how data and processes work and wouldn’t shy away from solving large complex problems. You enjoy the challenge of a new space and are proactive in seeking new learnings within an on the job training, team environment.

You’ll also bring: 

A solid understanding of various payment methods and channels;A general grasp of accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance principles;Exposure to reconciliations and financial journal entries;A natural curiosity to understand how processes work and a desire to dive deep into complex issues;Strong time-management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and KPIs;Excellent variance analysis, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex exceptions;Proficiency in interrogating data across both front-end systems and back-end databases;Intermediate to advanced Excel skills;Exceptional verbal and written communication, with a keen attention to detail;Experience with large enterprise financial systems or other ERP systems;A high level of attention to detail and an inquisitive mindset to identify trends and investigate issues;The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $70, 000 - $75, 000 per annum + superannuation.
