Position Title: Payment Processing Specialist

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Payment Processing Specialist reports to the Gems Setra AR/AP Manager and is responsible for receiving payments, managing CA credit holds, working directly with collectors and accounts payable associates, processing payments in customer and vendor portals, and identifying areas for improvement in execution. This role will work closely with customers, sales, customer service, buyers, quality, vendors and other Finance associates to ensure prompt payment from customers, the identification and resolution of issues, and remaining in compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

Processing all incoming and outgoing credit card payments Submitting invoices in customer portals Submitting payments in vendor portals Credit memo generation AR account adjustments Running daily/weekly/monthly finance reports AR inbox triage Research for AR and AP teams Back up for cash application Back up for advanced payment processing and hold release
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High School Diploma required Associate’s degree a plus (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of related work experience Prior experience in a manufacturing environment a plus Strong PC skills including Excel analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with external customers and internal departments

The noise level in the work environment occasionally loud.
Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
The associate must also be willing and able to travel by all forms of transportation.
