Payments Country Lead, Egypt, Amazon MENA Payments

We are seeking a senior and experienced Business Development Manager to join as Payments leads for Amazon in Egypt. This is a crucial role which will be at forefront of both Internal leaderships/stakeholders and external ecosystems (banks, regulators, payment providers etc) to shape the growth and development of payments for Amazon shopping in Egypt. The role will drive the key goals, P&L, roadmap prioritization, external partnerships and internal stakeholder management.

This role is based out of Cairo, Egypt.

Key job responsibilities
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1) Operate Payments goals and P&L for the country, which are across improving payment experience, affordability, access, engagement and reducing costs.
2) Define the Payments product strategy and the prioritization for the country, across different payment products & programs.
3) Develop and execute partnership strategies with banks, financial institutions, regulators and payment service providers to enhance the payment offering of Amazon.eg
4) Secure, sign-up, and manage working relationships with partners such as acquirers, issuers, schemes, Alternative Payment Methods (APMs), and Third Party Providers (TPPs).
5) Negotiate and finalize business contracts with partners, ensuring favorable terms for Amazon.eg.
6) Monitor and analyze partnership performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
7) Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in the fintech and payments space.
8) Represent Amazon.eg at Payment’s industry events and conferences to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
9) Represent Payment’s team internally to larger Amazon.eg team. Collaborate with internal Payments Team (Product, Finance, Legal, and Ops) and broader Amazon.eg team (leadership, marketing, finance) to achieve the goals and objectives.
10) Contribute to Payment planning for Amazon shopping events and key strategic programs. Contributes to the customer/market research and benchmarking studies, to provide localized inputs.
