Description We are seeking a Payroll Accountant to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing payroll processes, maintaining accurate payroll records, and responding to payroll related inquiries. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Accurately process payroll for over 150 employees, ensuring all data is up-to-date and error-free • Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions to uphold transparency and accuracy • Handle multi-state payroll processing, adhering to specific state laws and regulations • Utilize ADP Workforce Now software for efficient payroll processing • Prepare and update payroll journal entries to keep financial records accurate • Conduct payroll reconciliations to verify accuracy of payroll data • Perform payroll tax reconciliations, ensuring all tax obligations are met • Generate and analyze payroll reports for management review • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis • Leverage knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping System for effective time tracking and payroll processing. Requirements • Proficiency in payroll accounting and processing for 101 - 500 employees. • Demonstrated expertise in managing multi-state payroll. • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for payroll calculations and reporting. • Experience with payroll systems such as Kronos, Kronos Timekeeping System, and Kronos Workforce. • Familiarity with ADP - Payroll and UKG Pro for payroll management. • Ability to ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations. • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills. • Strong communication skills for effective coordination with other departments. • Capability to manage confidential and sensitive information. • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
