Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in the retail industry, located in BOISE, Idaho, United States. As a Payroll Accountant, you'll be tasked with the maintenance of legacy payroll systems, setting up tax-insurance-wage tables for new locations, journal entry postings related to payroll, and account reconciliations. You will also coordinate with the Payroll Team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, and ensure the accuracy of payroll processes in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Maintenance and operation of legacy payroll systems such as AS400 and KRONOS
• Setting up tax-insurance-wage tables for new locations
• Posting of payroll-related journal entries
• Reconciliation of related accounts
• Generation of period-end reports
• Coordination with the Payroll Team to research and resolve issues
• Ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processes in an evolving environment
• Use of skills such as Accrual Accounting, Auditing, and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
• Management of multistate payroll and benefits payroll
• Overseeing employment tax and payroll taxes
• Ensuring accurate payroll reconciliation. Requirements • Proficiency in Accrual Accounting is necessary.
• Auditing skills are a must.
• Experience with Kronos Timekeeping System is required.
• Familiarity with AS400 is important.
• Ability to handle Multistate Payroll is essential.
• Experience in managing Benefits Payroll is vital.
• Knowledge of Compensation & Benefits is necessary.
• Proficiency in Employment tax is required.
• Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation skills are important.
• Expertise in handling Payroll Taxes is crucial.
• Ability to Reconcile Payroll is required.
