SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for assisting the Payroll Manager in all payroll operations which includes reviewing and recording general ledger entries for payroll across several locations within the Empire State Division. This position will also be responsible to complete various bookkeeping responsibilities for several locations in the division which include recording of accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as reconciling credit card transactions
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Respond to requests for payroll information
+ Process wage and employment verifications
+ Process seasonal payroll for Camp and Kettles
+ Assist Payroll Manger with payroll processing as needed
+ Distribution of payroll to Corps
+ Assist employees, supervisors, and Officers with questions about the payroll system
+ Ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee data ensuring all payroll information, files and records are maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and agency requirements
+ Record all payroll output for each pay period into the general ledger system for various locations.
+ Maintain bookkeeper responsibilities as assigned on an as needed basis to include:
+ Reviewing and approving invoice coding from field as needed
+ Recording of income / accounts receivable transactions from daily deposits as needed.
+ Completion of monthly bank reconciliations
+ Asistance with preparing miscellaneous reports for Corps officers and finance leadership (EFSP, Funder, Program Financial Reports / Budgets, etc.)
+ Demonstrate cultural competence, and support Empire State Division Strategic objectives
+ Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
List any special skills, licenses, certificates, or registrations that are required to perform the essential duties of this job
+ High degree of accuracy required
+ Excellent computer skills with ability to navigate HRIS system (ADP)
+ Experience processing payroll – experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
+ Strong proficiency in Excel
+ Ability to prioritize and manage time sensitive deadlines is essential
