Overview

The Payroll Analyst will assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll.  The Analyst will ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to the payroll process along with preparing payroll audits and working through complex payroll transactions and business rules.  Additionally, the Analyst will serve as a primary contact for the Accounting team and prepare payroll account reconciliations and journal entries.

Responsibilities Ensure all aspects of the payroll tax cycle, including tax, benefits, wage attachment, etc. are processed, audited, and transmitted accurately and timely.Reconcile payroll tax accounts on balance sheet.Work with payroll and accounting staff on accounting treatment of complex transactions.Learn, interpret, and analyze complex policies, procedures, and business rules. Provide recommendations for process improvement and efficiency.Partner with HRIS team to recommend and deploy system enhancements. Initiate meaningful reporting and analytics to provide recommendations to business users.Reliably support business units to drive payroll metrics and associated business initiatives.Regularly analyze legislative and regulatory tax changes that affect the payroll function. Support quarter-end tax filing. Participate in year-end processing and W-2 production.Support internal and external audits.Assist in the payroll and tax vendor relationship. Support the overpayment and repayment programs.Assist in the analysis of employee level tax data to maintain compliance and ensure state and local withholding is correct.Research employee-related payroll tax issues.Assist in responding to federal, state, and local agency notices and inquiries.Provide Payroll support and Dayforce support.Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Must maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding employee information.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, human resources, or related field or a combination of education and related experience.Minimum 3 years of payroll experience.Experience working with SAAS HRIS/payroll system with Dayforce experience preferred.Ability to read and understand scheduling systems such as Humanity, Roster Apps, Schedule Anywhere. Excellent problem-solving skills.Reliable and self-motivated. Analytical, interpretive, and organizational skills.Possess strong organizational and time management skills to effectively meet deadlines.Experience working in a multi-state environment.Professional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and able to work with all levels of an organization.Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel (advanced proficiency required), and Outlook.

Work Environment & Physical Demands Computer work, in a typical office environment, subject to critical deadlines. Can involve long periods of sitting.Some repetitive motion such as typing.Position requires some physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking and light lifting of boxes, bags, files, etc. not in excess of 30 lbs.Full-time exempt position.Ability to work additional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
