Payroll Analyst

Meaningful Work From Day One:

This position is responsible for the processing, accounting, reporting, analysis, and systems that ensure the timely calculation and payment of the payroll by partnering with the Payroll Vendor to ensure open communication and resolution.  This position is responsible for the execution of payroll activities, including the associated payment, taxes and contributions, and related activities. The position is responsible for continuous process and system improvement and managing relationships with external payroll providers, internal customers, and stakeholders. The role also supports administrative tasks and assists with reporting to internal and external customers.

What You Can Expect:
Payroll:

Review the payroll of around 100 employees in Brazil, Colombia, Chile, and the Dominican Republic, as well as any other LATAM payroll, excluding Mexico, if necessary. 

Records payroll changes such as medical leave, special payments, discounts, etc.

Collaborates with external payroll providers, HR, and legal teams to ensure timely payroll.

Provides information to external suppliers such as consultants and auditors.

Investigates discrepancies in payroll information and/or documentation.

Process Vacation payroll payments per Country regulations.

Manages and oversees the Time and Attendance tracking, updates, and adjustments for employees. 

Work with the vendor to process severance payments.  

Ensure compliance with country requirements related to payrolls listed in the Job Description. 

Provide information to internal and external auditors and government agencies.

Monitor tax notifications, social security, and other government requirements; record and comply with the timely payment of taxes, contributions, and withholding taxes related to payroll.

Capture payroll changes in Workday via Workday Worksheet.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal regulations, and SOX.

Have a general understanding of Payroll GL/JE processes. 

Process Journal entries for all LATAM countries and handle account reconciliations. 

Maintain and increase knowledge about payroll-related legislation and changes.

Participate in projects, including system upgrades, configuration changes, etc.

Validates payments to employees and bank disbursements and issues checks when necessary.

Coordinates payments to suppliers if necessary. 

Analysis and Project Management:

Prepares ad hoc reports, metrics, and presentations

Analyzes information and identifies opportunities for improvement

Prepare monthly reports for Accounting, Controllership, Tax, Corporate, etc.

Leads process improvement projects and action plans, follows up on open items due dates, and communicates status to Management.

Carries out the analysis, user tests, and coordinates go-live.

What You Bring to the Table:

3+ years of experience in payroll and other similar roles. 

Brazil and other LATAM payroll compliance, regulations, and overview.  

Proficient in Google apps (sheets, docs, etc.) and Excel.

Knowledge and experience in general Accounting, Resource Management, Administration, Taxes (local and federal), internal policies and procedures.

Knowledge and experience in payroll processes, compensations, payroll taxes, social security, savings accounts, and pension plans.

Partner with other areas to achieve process improvements, achieve goals, and meet deadlines.

Ability to provide honest and direct feedback professionally and follow the company's values.

Project management skills.

Discretion to handle confidential information.

Oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly discuss payroll issues with employees at different organizational levels and externally with payroll providers and government agencies.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Languages: Some English, oral and written preferred.

Experience with SAP and Workday is desirable.
