Payroll Analyst

Position: Payroll Analyst (13304)

Role: Full time, 40 hrs/week, Contract of Employment

Location: Sri Lanka (hybrid) or fully remote 

Contract of Employment, full-time.

 

Payroll Analyst, what you’ll do:

As part of the Global Payroll Centre of Excellence, you will manage Payroll cycles for assigned portfolios for countries such as Sri Lanka, the Middle East, and Africa.   

Who you will work with:

You will be part of the Global Payroll COE team reporting directly to the Regional Payroll Manager – APACMEA. You will work closely with in-market leaders and Pearson’s HR Care team members, HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence, Finance, and Technology.   

Key Responsibilities:

Full ownership of Payroll cycles for assigned portfolios of countries  Act as the main point of contact for employees and external payroll providers Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders Manage annual year-end processes, associated regular statutory payroll reporting, and compliance matters.  Responsible for maintaining and operating adequate internal controls to ensure compliance with agreed policies, controls, audit, and regulatory requirements. Ensure SOP/training documents are kept up to date Liaise closely with applicable stakeholders to ensure taxes and social charge rates are applied and reported accurately and timely for variable compensation such as equity/stock Maintain documentation for key payroll processes Proactively oversee and advise customers and business leaders on important metrics, service levels, and critical service delivery issues. Required skills/experience:

Demonstrated relevant experience 3+ years Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite of products (Excel – lookup and pivot table knowledge are essential) Background working with multiple/complex payrolls Fluent in English (spoken and written) Ability to drive system automation to eliminate manual processes. Continuous improvement approach with the ability to see opportunities Ability to apply sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information Proactive anticipation of issues and developing collaborative relationships with upstream and downstream function

 

Desired Skills:

Exposure to multi-jurisdiction payrolls Vendor management  Communicating fluently in an additional language such as Arabic, Persian, and Hebrew to assist stakeholders who prefer assistance in their preferred language.
