Payroll and Tax Control Analyst Job

If you are looking for the opportunity to provide positive impact to employees in a collaborative and great HR team, then look no further.  Arkema is seeking a Payroll and Tax Control Analyst to join our team - This position reports to our Payroll and Tax Control Manager, and is based at our North American Headquarters in Radnor, PA. 
 

The Payroll and Tax Control Analyst will provide Payroll & Tax Analysis, Administration and Support across several entities within Arkema in the US.  This role will also support special projects and tasks in related area as required including, but not limited to, items related to mergers and acquisitions, system changes/upgrades, updates to policies and practices, etc.

Operates in an environment of time sensitive business cycles and need to adhere to critical deadlines.  A sense of urgency and a proactive approach to addressing issues is expected. May be required to work some additional hours during certain time sensitive business cycles and other critical deadlines. Composure, ability to build rapport and trust, good judgment and analytical skills are also needed to be effective in the role.

 

Key Activities

Payroll Analysis, Administration and Support

Support all regular and special payroll processing’s, close and result reviews and verifications by running various reports  Handle Arkema Kronos Site Timekeeping Files as well as Bostik/Coatex Kronos files Investigate/Research/Respond/Track all employee payroll inquiries, escalate when appropriate Conduct proactive reviews of Arkema employee tax set ups include address change impacts, worksite changes & rehires prior to all regular payroll runs Handle all Arkema Inc., ArrMaz Products Inc., ArrMaz trucking Inc, and Coatex Inc., FEIN tax letters, tax requests/inquiries, state unemployment insurance changes and testing in BSI/SAP  Handle ADP Unemployment Management process with HRBPs and ADP. Handle Maintenance of Unemployment HR Contact List Handle Garnishment/Wire/Checks tracking Schedule and Facilitate Arkema Kronos User’s Group (AKUG) Timekeeping Monthly Meetings with site personnel Handle entry of Bonus Accrual % changes from Accounting in SAP HRMS Handle Updating Payroll SharePoint Site Back up for entry of Banking, W4, Additional Payments/Deductions, checking bank daily, handling deposit returns or changes and handle data/wires accordingly, and MyADP (iPay) electronic resets/registrations & access issues Back up all regular and special post-payroll processing A/P wire and check support and documentation Backup all regular and special post-payroll processing general ledger details to non-SAP entity Accounting Backup Department Daily Mail/cash receipts of any incoming employee repayments Backup Ensure KOP Kronos non-exempt timesheets are entered and verified prior to finalizing payroll Backup Track KOP non-exempt employee approvers and back-up approvers Back up Research and respond to all balance due at termination inquiries for applicable receivable areas Backup Review and completion of Experian Verify employment and salary verifications Backup Schedule, coordinate, and transcribe/Action items for interdepartmental meetings Handle Schedule, coordinate and transcribe/Action items for all Year-End Meetings   Backup Arkema Inc. Employee Recognition Program budget status tracking and communications Assist with updating Payroll Newsletters for Spring. Fall and Year-End Assist with W-2 Testing process Assist in special projects as required including acquisitions and divestitures

Mergers, Acquisitions, Integrations and Divestments support (As needed) 

Prepares reports for external consultants. Sets up and coordinates planning meetings. Supports integration project teams by tracking and logging open items and updating project timelines.

 

Qualifications/Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree, Business or Finance discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of 3+ years Payroll and Tax background, including : Experience in a corporate, multistate environment Experience with salaried and hourly payroll Experience with union payrolls and dues deductions is preferred. Large ERP system experience, SAP strongly preferred. Electronic timekeeping system experience, Kronos is preferred. Advanced proficiency with Excel. Understanding of general ledger, accounting and reconciliations is preferred. PayrollOrg (Formerly APA) payroll certification is preferred. Project team experience is preferred. Understanding of HR functions including benefits, compensation, HR analytics, HRMS, and payroll.
