PAYROLL ASSOCIATE
Summary of Position
We are seeking an experienced, reliable payroll specialist to join our team. In this role you will actively engage in payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. You will work in a high-volume office, processing payroll for 210,000+ employees. You will work collaboratively and with a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, demonstrating precision and expertise, in order to maximize efficiency and productivity. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Consistently, accurately assists with processing payroll for 210,000+ employees including time adjustments, entries, bonus and special payments within required timeframes and ensuring validation and accuracy through utilization of queries/reports.Edits and reviews Compass/Kronos time records for discrepancies and adjusts accordinglyCalculates and processes retroactive payProcess manual checks, replacement checks and paid outs ensuring accurate recordation, record keeping and calculation in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Updates banking institution data with the same. Assists in banking matters & DailyPay matters. Verifies benefit time accruals and ensures accurate payment in accordance with state regulationsAssists all customers with payroll inquiries - both phone and email. Goal is to work 30-50 emails per day.Responsible for maintaining payroll policies that comply with state and federal regulationsResponsible for adhering to internal controls, including SOX complianceStrong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasksProvides support and assists in training of new payroll associates Provides support to garnishment and tax specialty areas as neededAssist the Payroll Processing Manager and Director with special projects as requestedInterest in learning new skills and platforms as needed for new process improvement projects Ability to partner effectively with payroll team members and business partnersOther duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements/Qualification - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.
Multi-state payroll processing experienceAbility to communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret, reason, read, understand verbal instructions, analyze, differentiate, memorize, coordinate, compile, instruct, and maintain emotional control during highly stressful times.Excellent customer service skillsStrong organizational skills1-3 years payroll experience Ability to handle confidential information discreetlyKnowledge of software includes Excel, Microsoft Word, email and comfort with software applications on a PC
Desired Qualifications - Desired but not required.
Correctly calculate hours worked for FLSA requirementsPayroll certification (CPP or FPC)Lawson Payroll and/or Workday payroll experience a plus
