A Hybrid working model
Now offices are fully open we have embraced a hybrid working model, which allows our employees to split their time between the office and other locations, something we hope will provide everyone much more flexibility to their working week. What does a Payroll and Benefits Specialist do at Hogarth?
This role is a 12 Month FTC - The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is a member of the UK People team, reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Manager and supporting a headcount of circa 1,200 employees. The role will have day to day responsibility for the administration of the monthly payroll processing, including all joiner and leaver movement, fixed data changes, variable payments and deductions, parental leave, etc. You will also have responsibility for administration of our benefits programme; including the pension scheme, private healthcare, parental leave, discounts, and more. Alongside the Payroll and Benefits Manager, you will help deliver an efficient and accurate payroll service to all employees, that is trusted and respected across the business.
Responsibilities
Ownership of routine administrative processes such as inputting new starters, calculating and confirming final payments for leavers, and processing of all associated monthly fixed and variable payroll transactions, such as pay changes, parental leave, and misc. payments and deductions etc Act as a primary point of contact for routine employee payroll and benefits queries, providing support and consistent advice to Hogarth employees and managers Administration of company benefits package, including private medical memberships, end to end pension process (including auto-enrolment), and all other routine benefits administration support, such as cycle to work scheme, season ticket loans etc. Owning parts the HR Co-Ordinator role for the People team, working with the HR Co-Ordinators closely to maintain procedural knowledge Manage HMRC benefits returns P11D and P11D(B), including communications and form distribution among employees, and all associated tax queries Work with the Learning Services team to maintain, update, and perform periodical reviews of the company benefits guide Work with the Payroll and Benefits Manager on maintaining communication planning, liaising with the People team and other Hogarth stakeholders to distribute communications to the wider business Provide administrative support to the Payroll and Benefits Manager to manage audit related data requests and tasks Ensure that Hogarth remains compliant with all appropriate HMRC and statutory legislation, and take ownership for maintaining professional development and knowledge Provide support to, and work alongside the Payroll and Benefits Manager on project-based work and other ad-hoc activitiesRequirements
Demonstrable payroll experience, including an excellent attention to detail Solid communication skills, both written and verbal A desire for continual improvements, and the confidence to recommend process changes where appropriate Able to work under pressure and with urgency as required A ‘can do’ attitude in a complex and fast paced environment Able to work with confidential and sensitive information and data A self-starter, with confidence and strong organisational skills to work autonomously A friendly, professional and approachable demeanour, able to build relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
