Maintaining payroll information including collating, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system.Updating payroll records.Entering any changes to employee information or benefits, such as job title changes, exemptions, and savings deductions.Preparing reportsSummarizing earnings, tax deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages.Calculating payroll liabilitiesDetermining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer payments for social security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation.Resolving payroll discrepanciesAddressing and answering any employee payroll queries.Processing and issuing W-2 formsEnsuring all payroll operations comply with company policies and proceduresAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Numeracy and Attention to Detail: Strong mathematical skills and meticulous attention to detail are crucial for accurate payroll processingPayroll Software Proficiency: Familiarity with payroll and accounting software such as QuickBooks, ADP, or PaychexKnowledge of Payroll Laws and Regulations: Understanding federal and state payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirementsCommunication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to address employee queries and collaborate with other departmentsOrganizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficientlyTime Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure timely payroll processingPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
