Payroll Coordinator
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a payroll coordinator to join our Finance department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Processing mulit-state, corporate payroll including managing employee tax set-ups and other employee earnings and deductions Processing 401K reports, assisting in completing forms and required audits and presenting payroll and 401K information to employees Verifying and posting employee timesheets; obtaining corrections when required Tracking, verifying and processing employee changes affecting payroll (exemptions, insurance, sick, vacation, holiday and 401K) and providing monthly updates to managers Processing employment verifications Balancing payroll for the general ledger Scanning payroll reports for security Ensuring compliance with state and local laws and tax obligations as it relates to payroll The successful candidate must have an associate degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, business or closely related AND at least five (5) years of relevant payroll experience; OR if no degree, at least seven (7) years of relevant payroll experience. The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: 10+ years of relevant payroll experience Experience with large multi-state payrolls and outsourced payroll systems Microsoft office including advanced knowledge of Excel (especially using advanced formulas) and Outlook experience Experience with state and local tax laws as relates to payroll Experience balancing payroll Deltek Vision experience Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification The ideal candidate will also have experience at an Architecture/Engineering/Construction firm.
