By joining our dynamic payroll team, you will have the opportunity to analyze payroll GL accounts, handle income tax remittances, prepare and pay invoices, including reconciliations, and journal entries. It requires conducting month-end procedures, year-end tax processes, and reporting, as well as coordinating with finance teams and government agencies on payroll tax inquiries . Additionally, the role includes providing customer service to employees and participating in payroll audits.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for payroll GL accounts: analysis, reconciliation, journal entries.
Responsible for payroll remittances and invoices: analysis, reconciliation, and payment requests.
Month End procedures (accruals and payroll accounts).
Analyze and reconcile government statements and remittances for CRA, MRQ, provincial Workers Compensation and Provincial Health Care Plans.
Analysis and reconciliation of periodic payroll results for US tax filings.
Responsible for the year-end tax processes for preparation and issuance of year end income tax statements.
Responsible for year-end reporting; CSST, WSIB, WCB, etc.
Coordinate and interact with various finance teams in Canada and US locations on issues pertaining to employee compensation, inquiries regarding financials and taxation.
Coordinates and interacts with federal and provincial agencies on issues pertaining to employee compensation, inquiries regarding financials and taxation.
Responsible for providing a high level of customer service to all employees and internal stakeholders.
Participates in internal and external payroll audits.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of payroll accounting experience.
College diploma (DEC) in Administration or equivalent.
Thorough knowledge of current statutory requirements.
Strong Payroll Accounting skills mainly in G/L reconciliation process.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in both French and English.
Strong work ethic with a high level of accountability/responsibility.
Ability to work within strict deadlines and time constraints.
Ability to problem solve and uses analytical thinking.
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and superb attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong ability to maintain confidentiality; possesses diplomacy and tact.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite of software, particularly Excel.
Excellent customer service skills
Open to working in a paperless environment
Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
