Payroll/Human Resources Specialist

Job Description Primary Location: Worland, Wyoming PR/HR Specialist: Assists in the administration of various payroll, employee compensation and benefit plans such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and unemployment by performing the following duties. Utilizes company payroll software to process employee status and changes for entire organization. Assists and provides support for timekeeping system with employees and management teams. Provides vendors appropriate documentation for life, pension, and disability benefits claims. Processes extended sick leave and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) approvals and rejections. Maintains employee files and other record keeping. Provides support to the payroll and HR functions including but not limited to processing payroll, performing maintenance, issuing checks and direct deposits, preparing reports and reconciliations. Sends biweekly payroll to locations for distribution. Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data. Upholds confidentiality of department. Processes biweekly and monthly billing or transfer duty assigned by supervisor. Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associates degree from two-year College or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to write business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present oral and written information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate commissions and perform basic math functions. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems; Microsoft Office Suite. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
