Payroll Intern

Attention current Bachelor’s and Master’s students who love tackling new challenges. Clean Harbors is looking for a Payroll Intern. Our Payroll Intern will be responsible for computing specified payrolls, processing a variety of transactions, and preparing and generating a variety of forms and reports. They will be introduced to This internship provides hands-on experience with key payroll processes, systems, and industry best practices, all while contributing to the seamless execution of payroll across multiple regions.

Key Experiences and Learning Opportunities:

Payroll Processing: Interns will gain exposure to processing payroll for a diverse workforce across all 50 states and Puerto Rico, including union and non-union employees, multiple FEINs, and various pay frequencies.Payroll Systems: Interns will be introduced to industry-leading payroll and timekeeping systems, including UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM), Kronos, and ADP. They will assist with system audits, data entry, and troubleshooting payroll discrepancies.Compliance and Reporting: The internship includes learning about payroll compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as the preparation of reports such as disqualifying dispositions and taxable auto allowances.Acquisition Integration: Interns will observe and assist in the integration of payroll systems and processes following company acquisitions, gaining insight into change management and policy alignment.Collaboration and Communication: Interns will work with payroll team members, offshore teams in India, and various departments such as HR and Benefits. They will participate in meetings, assist in employee inquiries, and support communication efforts related to payroll.
