Kimley-Horn is looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This person will partner with leadership on strategy, compliance and complex tax issues. Payroll Manager will oversee payroll for 8,600 employees in more than 40 states and Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be involved in a variety of payroll functions and will work with employees at all levels across the firm.

Collaborate with internal leadership and vendors to optimize processes and drive efficiencyOversee all aspects of payroll processing ensuring compliance with international, federal, state and local regulationsManage a team of four Payroll Accountants, including staff training, coaching, development and evaluationCollaborate with Finance Team to provide year end workpapers and budget informationContinuously review and improve payroll processes to ensure efficiency and accuracyVendor ManagementWorker’s Compensation Audit: annual estimate and run annual auditOversee payroll accounting functions including review payroll journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and comparison of payroll to the general ledger Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or related field requiredCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plusProven experience as a Payroll Manager with 8+ years in payroll fieldKnowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations; Global payroll knowledge a plusExperience with the following is preferred: databases and reporting; payroll software; and multi-state tax (UKG Pro and Business Intelligence reporting preferred)Experience with Microsoft Office, technically proficient with ExcelStrong leadership skills managing a teamStrong interpersonal skills and client service mentalityHigh degree of professionalism with demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentialityExcellent organization, detail-orientation, and follow-through skills Why Kimley-Horn?
