Payroll Manager
Payroll Director needed in Miami FL! Must have experience working with multi-state payroll processing! This will move quickly!

Job Description

The Payroll Director will directly manage payroll operations, including payroll processing and garnishments, as well as multi-state and federal payroll tax functions. This role ensures all payroll processes are completed in a timely manner and comply with federal and state regulations. The Payroll Director will critically review and analyze current payroll, garnishments, and tax procedures to recommend and implement changes for best-practice operations. The position provides support to employees for payroll and paycheck-related inquiries and resolutions, including maintaining a system for payroll team weekend coverage. The Payroll Director will also prepare for payroll audits, ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations, and serve as the main point of contact for HR and Accounting and Finance teams to enhance collaboration and manage issues to resolution. In the future, the Payroll Director will participate in the implementation of an alternative HRIS and review current payroll procedures to identify best practice opportunities as payroll is brought in-house.

ResponsibilitiesManage payroll operations and payroll tax functions to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.Maintain labor hour rules within the time & attendance system.Critically review and analyze payroll, garnishments, and tax procedures for best-practice operations.Provide support for payroll and paycheck-related inquiries and resolutions.Prepare for payroll audits and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations.Serve as the main point of contact for HR and Accounting and Finance teams.Stay abreast of multi-state regulatory requirements and company policies.Participate in the implementation of an alternative HRIS in the future.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree or extensive payroll managerial experience (+15 years) in lieu of a college degree.8-10 years of payroll experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role.Expert knowledge of payroll operations and Federal, State, and local payroll laws.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong knowledge of payroll-related compliance and reporting requirements.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsWorking knowledge of UltiPro.Experience with system conversion or implementation preferred.Audit and compliance experience preferred.Experience managing multi-state payrolls and payroll tax.Experience with tipped employees considered a plus.Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.Effective team building capability and ability to guide, coach, and develop people.Ability to manage the conflict/issue resolution process.Ability to handle multiple customer requests/priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $58.00/hr.
