Description
Our client in the exciting music industry is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will work closely with a dynamic payroll team to analyze, optimize, and document payroll processes while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to operational improvements and provide hands-on support in payroll management.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee payroll operations and support their largest business entity to ensure smooth processes.
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and process documentation to enhance team efficiency.
• Identify gaps in payroll workflows and recommend effective solutions for process improvements.
• Review general ledger (GL) flows, accruals, and transaction processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assess team skills and structure, providing recommendations for optimizing team performance.
• Provide hands-on processing support and serve as a backup for payroll operations when needed.
• Analyze workers' compensation costs and variances to ensure proper management and reporting.
• Collaborate on equity and bonus payouts, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Work closely with financial reporting teams to streamline payroll accounting and reporting processes.
• Conduct assessments of current payroll systems, including Workday, to evaluate and enhance functionality.
Requirements
• Extensive experience in payroll management, including operational oversight (hands-on processing experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of developing and refining SOPs, checklists, and process documentation.
• Proven ability to conduct gap analyses and implement process improvements.
• Familiarity with general ledger flows, accruals, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with workers' compensation and bonus program management.
• Proficiency in Workday Payroll and Workday HRIS systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address operational challenges.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance and reporting departments.
