Cassia, a nonprofit, faith-based affiliation between Augustana Care and Elim Care, is seeking a Payroll Manager to join our collaborative Finance team at our Home Office in Edina, MN. In this vital role, you will lead and coordinate payroll operations for our organization of 5,000+ employees. You’ll supervise and mentor our Payroll Staff, ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations, and play a key role in employee experience and organizational efficiency.

Wage Range: $70,000 - $85,000 Annually depending on experience

Payroll Manager Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of bi-weekly payroll processing for 5,000+ employees across multiple legal entities using UKG payroll softwareSupervise, coach, and evaluate payroll staff; delegate and prioritize responsibilities for team successEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax filings and reconciliationsDevelop and maintain procedures that meet internal/external requirementsPerform general ledger payroll entries, reconciliations, and year-end processesOversee setup of new companies and organizational structures in the payroll systemConduct internal audits, resolve discrepancies, and support pension audits and testingProvide leadership in evaluating payroll policy, software enhancements, and interdepartmental process improvementsHandle complex payroll inquiries and partner with HR and Finance for issue resolutionPayroll Manager Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources (preferred)Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential (preferred)3–5 years of high-volume, multi-state payroll experience requiredPrior experience supervising payroll teams requiredProficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas)Familiarity with UKG Ready/Dimensions or similar HCM payroll platformsKnowledge of U.S. wage & hour laws, garnishments, and payroll tax complianceStrong time management, analytical thinking, and customer service mindsetAbility to work independently and maintain high accuracy under deadlinesCassia Benefits:Competitive Pay with experience-based raisesTuition Assistance & Student Loan Forgiveness (site-specific)Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & 403(b)/401(k) with Employer MatchComprehensive Health Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance) for Full-Time EmployeesEmployee Assistance Program with free confidential counseling/coaching for self and family members Pet Insurance
