Position Summary
Lead, direct, and supervise payroll process. Maintain payroll management information systems. Help research and produce accurate and efficient SOPs. Responsible for responding efficiently to internal and external inquiries and will demonstrate ability to inform and train others on payroll-related policies and systems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assists in establishing Payroll Accounting processes and procedures. Monitors and maintains Payroll management information systems, both manual and computerized. Ensures accurate, efficient, and timely payroll processed bi-weekly for 2000 employees. Directs payroll disbursement functions, including direct deposits. Researches, analyzes, and maintains time and attendance systems. Analyzes and reconciles general ledger payroll journals. Compiles and prepares employer payroll tax forms. Communicates with department Managers to provide proper training and information on payroll systems. Coordinates with Human Resource department in order to resolve employee concerns and issues. Ensures timely and accurate employer tax deposits. Prepares and maintains 401k reports for payment. Ensures compliance of casino, Federal, State, and Tribal reporting requirements. Evaluates subordinates and completes performance appraisals in a timely manner. Performs additional related duties as assigned and necessary. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.Additional Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Excellent computer skills, especially in spreadsheets and payroll software. Thorough knowledge of payroll accounting principles, procedures, and standards. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to supervise and coordinate sensitive work under strict deadlines. Ability to be flexible and move from one task to another easily and quickly. Ability to exhibit strong initiative and motivational commitment to the organization. Ability to use sound and efficient judgment in handling documents. Ability to use discretion in working with sensitive and confidential records. Knowledge of Kronos time reporting systems. Knowledge of Cognos Impromptu report processing capabilities.Education And Experience
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Four (4) years’ experience in payroll processing and reconciliation. Two (2) years supervisory experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Work is performed indoors. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required. Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
