This is a Fixed Term Contract for 9 months. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards. 

About the role:

Expertise in Australian Payroll Legislation:

Compliance: In-depth understanding of Australian tax laws, superannuation, Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and enterprise agreements Reporting: Familiarity with Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting to the ATO. Leave Management: Detailed knowledge of statutory leave entitlements (annual leave, sick leave, long service leave, etc.). Reconciliations  Superannuation guarantees Payroll Tax Payroll Processing, Off cycle Payments, Overpayments, Garnishments, New hires, terminations, Changes in Pays, ABA file payments, Superannuation, STP reporting, Year End Processessing 

About you:

Payroll Systems: Proficiency in using major payroll systems: Time Target , Myob Pay Global essential  Data Analysis: Ability to analyse payroll data for accuracy, trends, and compliance. Automation & Integration: Understanding of payroll system integrations with HRIS, finance systems, and other business tools.  Efficiency: Identify and implement improvements in payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Compliance Checks: Regularly review payroll processes to ensure ongoing compliance with legal requirements. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of payroll processes and procedures. Internal Audits: Conduct regular audits of payroll processes to ensure compliance and accuracy. Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks related to payroll processing and develop strategies to mitigate them.
