Payroll Shift Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Payroll Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing a multi-country payroll processing team and assists with processing payroll within the region.  Oversees payroll reporting, tax submissions, benefits-payment administration as well as payroll systems maintenance. Incumbent develops and controls all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization's payroll processing objectives, including relationships with internal and external stakeholders, auditors and government agencies. Hands on with process improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Leads a team of Payroll members responsible for processing multi country payroll.  Process end to end payroll and validation of payroll results.  Provide coaching, mentoring and making sure employees have the tools necessary to perform their job duties  Reconciliation of various payroll related accounts. Review and analyze reports for data accuracy; make adjustments as necessary and establish controls Preparation of various payroll related reports for the business.  Perform end of year processing and reconciliation including payment summaries. Act as a company representative as needed for government audits.  Identify areas for improvement and participate in strategic planning for department. Participate in system implementations for payroll and timekeeping. Advise, interpret and provide direction to management and staff on company rules and procedures, Federal, country and local laws and regulations involving payroll. Respond to complex matters requiring comprehensive knowledge of payroll policies and procedures; authorizes exceptions to the policy within defined limits. Make recommendations to leadership on process improvements. Lead projects and corporate initiatives that involve the payroll organization.

Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience is required. Master’s/Advance Degree is preferred. Four years related experience and one to three years supervisory experience in a similar function required. Experience in performing and validating UATs, systems conversation, data migration. Experience in filing government-required wage and tax statements required.

Specific Job Related Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics:

Bilingual in English required  Ability to build partnership with functional leaders within organization as well as with external vendors. Superior knowledge of payroll processing requirements, system configuration and impact on regulations. Proficient personal computer skills including Microsoft Office. Knowledge on timekeeping systems and HCM systems required  Knowledge and understanding of Payroll and HR legislation and processes e.g. interpretation of bonuses or awards, and legislation, and tax Knowledge of audits and income tax forms,  Knowledge of health benefits programs and retirement plans preferred Exhibits sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills with knowledge of payroll systems, internal controls, and management. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity to ensure associate confidence and protection of the integrity of payroll operations and information. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral bilingual communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and organize, work in a multitasked environment, and adapt to a flexible schedule.
