Description We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be managing a high volume of transactions and serving as the expert for various employment classifications. You will be responsible for understanding the implications of payroll processes. Responsibilities: • Accurately and efficiently process payroll for new hires and changes. • Provide customer service and troubleshooting, offering training on complex transactions and system support for departmental issues related to these transactions. • Identify and propose solutions for business process improvement and campus communications to ensure smooth payroll operations. • Assist with employment verifications. • Handle payroll-related tasks as assigned, such as check cancellations, overpayments, stop payments, and voided checks. • Run queries to identify check address issues and collaborate with employees/departments to resolve these issues and support live check distribution/mailing procedure. • Review and communicate errors and rejections. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll specialist role or similar • Proficient in payroll software • Demonstrated ability to process payroll in a timely and accurate manner • Experience with employment verifications and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations • Proficiency in executing payroll functions such as wage deductions, benefits, and tax calculations • Experience with processing bi-weekly payroll for a diverse workforce • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive employee information • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
