This Payroll Administrator opportunity is located in Tacoma, Washington and is a long-term contract / temporary to hire role. Your responsibilities in this role - Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages - Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments - Preparing relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for circulation to department heads - Handle payroll record updates by keeping changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Manage and review, including verify, source documents - Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence - Manage other tasks as assigned - Manage employee deductions and other liabilities - Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data - Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures - Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information - Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines - Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests - Help payroll manage all internal and external audits Requirements - Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. - Knowledge of internal controls - Excellent data entry skills - Prior experience working with accounting software - Full Cycle Payroll experience - Expertise in Excel Formulas - Solid understanding of bi-Monthly Payroll - Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen - Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills - Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills - Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements - 2+ years of strong payroll experience - Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
