Position Overview: 

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the payroll processing of multi-state, multi-entity weekly, biweekly, and supplemental payrolls.  

Responsibilities: 

Perform all activities necessary to process multi-state, multi-entity weekly and biweekly payrolls. Responsible for verifying new hire information entered by PeopleConnect (People Ops shared services). Process all payroll changes including rate changes, employee profile changes, and involuntary payroll deductions. Process hours in UKG Workforce Management. Process 401k weekly and bi-weekly file and payment to retirement provider. Responsible for creating and maintaining standard operating procedures, checklists and other tools to assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll activities. Create reports for senior management and assist with special projects as needed. Process General Ledgers and Payroll Journal Entries. Process monthly union dues payment. Respond to supervisor inquiries relating to time sheets. Reconcile payroll accounts and cash accounts with bank. Provide and update the payroll approval reports for final payroll approval. Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner. Assist managers and employees in the resolution of employee pay concerns. Responsible for administering the PTO balances and accruals. Responsible for the 941 Reconciliation for each entity. Assist with implementing interface files. Cross training with Payroll Analyst. Provide Workforce Management training to supervisors (upon request). Prepare ad-hoc reports for business partners upon request. Special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

Associate degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience. Strong working knowledge and experience utilizing payroll software is required (UKG specific experience is preferred). Multi-state processing experience. Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented team environment. Strong attention to detail. Strong working knowledge of Excel is required.

Salary Range: $27.82 to $37.09

Annual Bonus Potential: 5%  

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed, education, experience, travel requirements for the job, and/or other business and organizational needs.
