Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)

Payroll Processing:

Prepare and process payroll and associated information.Collate, verify, and input payroll data into the payroll system.Update payroll records and process routine changes to employee records.

Tax Compliance and Reporting:

Prepare and file payroll tax returns, statements, and other required reports at local, state, and federal levels.Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting and financial records to prepare payroll tax reports and provide recommendations.Determine and calculate payroll tax implications; develop strategies for minimizing tax liability.Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll tax legislation to ensure compliance.Prepare paperwork and documentation for payroll tax submissions.Full proficiency in payroll tax disciplines.Perform basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle.Respond to pay-related inquiries from staff and resolve errors or omissions.Prepare and submit required reports and forms to IRS and other regulatory bodies.

Administrative Duties: 

Provide support and recommendations for payroll and tax-related issues as needed.Follow all processing procedures and adhere to company policies.Maintain confidentiality of payroll and tax information.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

Proficient in payroll processing and tax reporting.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial records.Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.Proficiency in relevant payroll and accounting software.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree is required but may be substituted with two years of related experience for each year of education.Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in payroll and tax functions.Workday and ADP SmartCompliance experience preferred.
