Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Description:
+ Prepare and process payroll-related information and adjustments, including retro-active payments for union payroll.
+ Ensure accuracy of payroll items for union employees.
+ Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
+ Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
+ Develop post-payroll reporting as needed.
+ Confirm and email appropriate reports and files to internal and external customers.
+ Maintain internal document filing system.
+ Communicate effectively with employees and managers at all levels of the organization.
+ Research and answer union employee inquiries in electronic customer service payroll software dashboard.
+ Assist union employees with navigating Employee Self Service (ESS) in Paycom.
+ Complete verification of employment and income forms for union employees.
+ Provide information for workers' compensation forms.
+ Print and issue checks weekly to the union.
+ Perform other job duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ 4-5+ years of payroll experience.
+ Good understanding of general payroll rules and regulations (garnishments, withholdings, payroll laws, etc.).
+ Proficiency in Excel and Word.
+ Experience with Paycom software is a plus.
+ Experience processing high volume payroll (at least 200 weekly).
+ Ability to approve timesheets, ensure time accuracy, answer employee questions about timesheets and Paycom, show employees how to use Paycom, upload timecards into Paycom, confirm in and out times, and verify work groups.
+ Union payroll experience is beneficial but not required.
+ Not afraid of a challenge and willing to learn union-specific requirements.
+ Positive attitude and attention to detail.
+ Comfortable with a demanding position.
