Payroll Specialist

Description We are in search of a Payroll/HR Specialist to join our team in Noblesville, Indiana. This role entails managing payroll operations across multiple states, ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations, and providing support for light HR duties.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process union payroll, taking into account any deductions, overtime, and wage calculations
• Keep abreast of modifications in payroll laws and regulations to maintain compliance
• Communicate with union representatives to handle any payroll-related concerns
• Calculate and process payroll taxes accurately, including federal, state, and local taxes, ensuring timely submission to regulatory agencies
• Respond to and resolve any issues related to payroll taxes
• Assist with HR tasks, including but not limited to employee onboarding, offboarding, and upkeep of personnel records
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and other HR matters
• Collaborate with the HR team to back various initiatives, such as policy updates or employee engagement programs
• Maintain precise records of payroll transactions, including wages, benefits, and taxes
• Generate reports as required for management or regulatory purposes, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality in payroll and HR systems. Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably as a Payroll/HR Specialist.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience in Benefit Functions is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Payroll procedures, specifically in a Union environment is critical.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
