Payroll Specialist

PURPOSE
This position is responsible for assisting the Payroll Director and Payroll Supervisor in providing Floor and Decor Outlets of America, Inc. (“F&D”) associates with exceptional customer service with respect to payroll processing.

ESSENTAIL FUNCTIONS

Assist Payroll Supervisor/Payroll Manager in:

Processing all F&D biweekly payroll and payroll corrections, accurately and timely.Coordinating with payroll service on all compliance and reporting issues.Submitting and maintaining the necessary payroll reports related to payroll corrections, record keeping, employee cumulative data, and pay detail.Processing all wage garnishments (child support, spousal support, tax levies, etc.), and other state and federal payroll administration timely and accurately.Providing support to all corporate and store employees with respect to payrollResponding to all payroll- and benefits-related inquiries and respond to customers (internal and external) within 24 hours.Order and distribute all payroll-related materials related to new store openings.

Order and distribute all payroll-related materials related to new store openings.Perform simple mathematical computations and tabulate figures with speed and accuracy.Proofread work and identify errors. Attention to detail.Excellent time management skills.Ability to expand responsibilities to accommodate organization growth.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally, with all levels of the organizationAbility to work well in a team environment.Perform other duties as may be assigned


MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Two (2) to Three (3) years of payroll experience required.Experience with Workday payroll preferred:Basic mathematics skills.Understanding of payroll calculations and payroll tax laws.Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Word and Excel.Ability to organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.


WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

Limited travel required including air and car travelThe noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.


PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
