Position Summary:
Maintains and processes weekly payroll records and reports for accounting of salary/wages due, accruals, deductions and other payroll functions.
Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Perform payroll-related tasks which includes review of payroll data
+ Enter new hires and terminated employees into company’s payroll system
+ Set up, maintain, and process all garnishments and correspond with agencies and employees
+ Process personnel data updates in company payroll system
+ Respond to unemployment claims for terminated employees
+ Complete verification process of employment requests
+ Assist with union reporting
+ Process Certified and OCIP/CCIP reporting as required
+ Assist employees with electronic timekeeping systems
+ Provide customer service to employees regarding payroll related issues
+ Calculate payable hours, tax withholdings and deductions
+ Calculate and issue final paychecks for employees that terminate
+ Issue hand checks for employees as necessary
+ Track tax accruals and balances for payroll reporting
+ Communicate with union representatives as needed
+ Assist Payroll Manager with special projects as needed

+ All other duties as assigned and required
Required Qualifications:
+ Experience in payroll processing required
+ Attention to detail
+ Strong organizational and time management skills
+ Ability to work on a team and build working relationships within all levels of the organization
+ Possesses a math aptitude and understands basic accounting principles
+ Adept in use of MS Office and aptitude for learning required software
Education and Experience:
+ High school diploma required
+ Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience preferred
+ 1-3+ years of related experience
